For this month’s edition of the Saturday Evening Blog Post, hosted by Elizabeth Esther, I selected a post of thoughts spurred by a tweeted question, Rebaptized?. I was torn picking a favorite post from November. I thought about this post on Reality. I also considered emphasizing my Reflections on Resurrection series for a second month with my post on Reincarnation. But I think I picked the one I most enjoyed writing.

For this month’s edition of the Saturday Evening Blog Post, hosted by Elizabeth Esther, I selected the first post in my ongoing Reflections on Resurrection series. I almost selected the unplanned post, 15 Authors, that I threw together after being tagged on Halloween. I enjoyed putting that one together quite a bit. But the things I’m trying to say about resurrection (the Christian narrative) as opposed to the many competing narratives about the nature of reality and what it means to be a human being are closer to my heart.

For this month’s edition of the Saturday Evening Blog Post, hosted by Elizabeth Esther, I’m breaking the rules and choosing several of my short reflections on some of St. Maximos the Confessor’s Texts on Love. (The texts are also called his Centuries on Love since he wrote four hundred of them.) There were several in August that I would like to share. Unlike my usual walls of text, these are pretty short reflections. I hope you find them helpful or interesting in some way!

Thanks for visiting. And if you are reading this and haven’t checked out the Saturday Evening Blog Post, I encourage you to do so. There are some pretty interesting people who participate.

For the June edition of the Saturday Evening Blog Post, hosted by Elizabeth Esther, I chose my post, What is the source of our oneness?. I also considered some of the other posts from June, including the early posts in my series on Heaven & Earth (& Hell), but finally settled on this post.

As always, I encourage all readers here to check out the Saturday Evening Blog Posts. There are always interesting posts to read. And if you blog, consider adding a post yourself.

For the May edition of the Saturday Evening Blog Post, hosted by Elizabeth Esther, I chose my post, Fallen. It was an easy decision this month. That was by far the most personally meaningful post I wrote in May.

Enjoy, peruse the other posts on EE’s site, and consider adding a link to one of your own.

Even though it’s Friday night, it’s time once again for Elizabeth Esther’s Saturday Evening Blog Post! Go check it out! It’s a fun way to read a collection of self-selected posts by a group of interesting bloggers. This edition covers March and April.

I had a hard time selecting a post. March included much of my lengthy series on Original Sin and there were a few that I thought might be worth posting. I really liked today’s post, Funeral Reflections.

But I finally decided that my review and personal reflection on A Fractured Mind was the post I most wanted to share this month. I hope you enjoy it. And leave a comment if what I wrote stirs any thoughts or reactions in you.

It’s a new month, so Elizabeth Esther is once again hosting the Saturday Evening Blog Post, providing her readers an opportunity to share a link to a post from the past month. This month, I shared a link to my post, The Monstrous Within Us All, in which I reflected on and began to process a man deliberately crashing a plane into a building that housed coworkers of mine. I don’t know that it’s the best thing I wrote last month, but the event itself was shocking. Head over to her blog, read some of the links, and add your own!

Head over to Elizabeth Esther’s blog for her monthly Saturday Evening Blog Post! If you have a blog, consider adding one of your January posts for us all to enjoy. From January, after considering several posts, I decided to include the post from my series on Fr. Alexander Schmemann’s book in which I reflected on the way our culture (Christians included) considers and speaks about life and death.

I’ve read Elizabeth Esther’s blog for a while now, but have been hesitant about participating in her Saturday Evening blog post. I finally decided to go ahead and add a link. I chose my reflection last month on holiness. No particular reason beyond the fact that it was the one I most enjoyed writing.

Cheers!
