    We are Orthodox Christians and my daughter was just diagnosed Celiac. Prosphora makes her sick, I’m not sure about communion. Any comments would be appreciated so very much!

    Maria, I’m not Orthodox myself at this time, but your question is definitely one about which I wondered. Even if I did become Orthodox at some point in time, would I ever be able to receive communion? I asked Father Stephen Freeman (Father Stephen in my Blogroll on the right) via email. He assured me that a priest could communicate with wine only if he knows of your health problem and it would still be the fullness of Christ. My best advice is to go talk to your priest and explain the problem.
